Dates for the 2027 AFA Summer Festival, including application deadlines, notification dates, and program dates, will be announced soon.

All applicants must submit a non-refundable application fee. The application fee is the same if you are applying for the Chamber Music Seminar, Orchestra Intensive, or both.
The 2027 application fee will be announced when applications open. Payment for the Application Fee is collected as part of the online application process.
Tuition, room and board, meal, and transportation fees for the 2027 AFA Summer Festival will be announced when applications open.
All applicants to either week of the AFA Summer Festival are eligible for tuition assistance and will automatically be considered for merit-based awards upon receipt of application that meets the below Audition Video Requirements.
The Atlanta Festival Academy will award 10+ full scholarships to Orchestra Intensive participants who travel from affiliated youth orchestra.
AFA will also award 10+ full scholarships to Orchestra Intensive participants who come from the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO).

To be eligible for the AFA Summer Festival Chamber Music Seminar:
• Applicants must be 12 to 19 years old at the time of the festival.
• Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to their instrument.
• This program is for stringed instruments only.
Our application will include:
Submit unedited, high-quality video recordings that showcase your musicianship and technical skill. Each video should be clear and well-lit, and all audio must be audible without distortion. Videos must be recorded in the last 3-months.
Required repertoire:
• Solo piece: Record a 2-3 minute solo piece excerpt that best demonstrates your musicianship.
Upload your video in an unlisted YouTube Video format via the online application portal. Label each file clearly with your name and the repertoire performed.
To be eligible for the AFA Summer Festival Orchestra Intensive:
• Applicants must be 13 to 19 years old at the time of the festival.
• Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to their instrument and ensemble performance.
Our application will include:
Submit unedited, high-quality video recordings that showcase your musicianship and technical skill. Each video should be clear and well-lit, and all audio must be audible without distortion. Videos must be recorded in the last 3-months.
Required repertoire:
• Solo piece: Record a 2-3 minute solo piece excerpt that best demonstrates your musicianship.
• Orchestral excerpt(s): Record the required orchestra excerpts for your instrument.
